South Scotland MSP, Craig Hoy, has welcomed Jenny Harper to the Scottish Parliament as part of a special event marking the 25th anniversary of the Scottish Parliament.
Jenny Harper was selected from the many nominations from right across South Scotland because of her dedication to being the Chair of the Lamp of Lothian Trust.
Speaking after the event, Craig said: “Jenny’s unwavering commitment to the Lamp of Lothian Trust is truly admirable. Through her voluntary efforts, she has successfully overseen the Trust, ensuring that the Elizabeth Hamilton Buildings- home to both the Bridge Centre and the Poldrate Arts and Crafts Centre- serve as a vibrant space for a wide variety of activities that benefit people of all ages. She was also core to the renovation of Haddington House, where she worked hard to transform the building into offices to provide income for the trust. Her passion and dedication are the reasons why she was selected from many worthy nominations.”
The event at the Scottish Parliament, which was attended by King Charles III and Queen Camilla, celebrated not only the Parliament’s 25-year milestone, but also the achievements of local heroes from right across Scotland.
He added: “The event was a great success. It was fantastic to meet so many other local heroes and hear their stories. It was, of course, an honour to see Their Majesties during such an important celebration.”
The event was live streamed on the Scottish Parliament website and can be replayed any time.
