At a recent meeting of East Lothian Conservative & Unionist Association, Tim Jackson was appointed as Chairman following Robin Salvesen’s decision to step down after 4 years in the role.
After his appointment Mr Jackson commented:
‘I am delighted to become the new Chairman of the East Lothian Conservative & Unionist Association. I want our Association to be actively involved across East Lothian and fully engaged with local matters. I therefore intend to play my part in spreading the Party’s message.
East Lothian is a region brimming with outstanding businesses, first class facilities, and much loved local communities. I want people here to know that we are on their side.
Following the Referendum in which the Scottish Conservatives played a crucial role in helping to ensure that Scotland remained part of the United Kingdom, this is an exciting time for Scottish politics.
With the General Election just months away there is a lot of work to be done and, following our forthcoming candidate selection meeting, we will be doing all we can to support our chosen candidate over the coming months.
The choice is simple – it’s between a Conservative led government with a clear long- term economic plan for building a healthier and stronger economy to the benefit of all or risk losing all the progress we’ve made during the last 4 years by voting for those who have continually criticised the necessary remedial action.’
