The East Lothian Conservative and Unionist Association is delighted to see vote share increases in both the Constituency and Regional votes and for Rachael Hamilton to be elected as South of Scotland MSP.
Scottish Conservative candidate, Rachael Hamilton, took 23.9% of the vote having polled 9.045 votes (+7.2% increase on 2011). The regional vote recorded 10,570 votes, beating Labour in to third place and showing a fantastic increase vs. 2011 (+5,439 votes).
East Lothian Conservative's strong regional result was reflected across the rest of the South of Scotland region, culminating in Rachael Hamilton being duly elected as South of Scotland MSP.
After such a strong campaign we could not be happier with the result, and that Rachael will be joining the largest ever number of Scottish Conservatives in Holyrood to act as a strong opposition to the SNP government.
